In Runogone village, Meru County, a family facing unique challenges has received a lifeline from a group of retired professional women. In a show of compassion, the group has also constructed a house for the couple’s 22-year-old son, who is also living with autism, giving him a safer and more comfortable space.A team of retired professional ladies from Meru County visited the home, carrying donations that included food, mattresses and clothing. The group, led by members such as Hellen Nkirote, said they first met the family during last year’s Christmas festivities and were deeply moved by their struggles.
