Experts from the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) region are calling upon the international partners to reconsider their decision of pulling away funds that were supporting humanitarian crises. This they say, has not only led to budget cuts in critical sectors but also loss of lives. The experts who were speaking during the Stock–take meeting in Nairobi on the Nairobi Declaration, called on members to invest in long term strategies that will sustain their social economic development.
