Government to build over 1,700 affordable housing units on repossessed Mombasa land

The government will construct 1,752 affordable housing units on approximately six acres of land at the Buxton area in Mombasa County recovered by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission in 2024. The repossession is part of the commission`s strategies in the fight against corruption as it removes the benefit and reduces the motivation to engage in graft and illegal acquisition of public property. EACC Chief Executive Officer Abdi Mohamud spoke Tuesday during a tour of recovered assets where he affirmed EACC`s commitment to scale up the war on graft and ensure stolen public assets are recovered and put into prudent use.
