Many farmers had invested heavily in land preparation ahead of the short-rain season but are now counting potential losses after the rains proved unreliable. Kitui County Agriculture CECM, Mbaya Kimwele, is urging farmers to adopt climate-smart agricultural practices, noting that rainfall patterns in the region have become increasingly unpredictable.
