Traders at Umoja II Market staged a day-long protest, blocking major access roads around the market to oppose what they claim is an attempt to grab the land on which their businesses sit. The traders say a private developer is laying claim to the one-acre market after allegedly securing a favourable court ruling. They insist the judgement, though reported online, has not yet appeared on the official Judiciary portal, which they believe is a deliberate tactic to lock them out of filing an appeal.
