Survivors of Gender-Based Violence in Magarini Kilifi county now have access to a new safe space following the launch of a Resource and Protection Centre by the county government in partnership with a non-governmental organisation. The centre, which includes an 18-bed safe house, will offer counselling, skills training and referral services. The 3.8 million shilling project is expected to benefit 13,000 women in Magarini. Local women leaders say 12 GBV survivors, including four boys, are already receiving protection.
