The court rules that KBC is a lawful beneficial owner of Komarock transmission land

Kenya Broadcasting Corporation, KBC, has secured a decisive court victory in a long-running land dispute after the Environment and Land Court in Machakos ruled that the broadcaster is the lawful beneficial owner of more than 500 hectares of land located in Komarock, Machakos County, where its transmission station is located. Delivering the Judgment, Lady Justice Nelly Matheka ruled that the contested parcel, situated along Kangundo Road, was lawfully acquired by the Government of Kenya through compulsory acquisition for public broadcasting purposes and that the original owner, Komarock Ranching and Farming Co-operative Society Limited, was duly and fully compensated.
