Residents of Merile in Banissa Subcounty, Mandera County have unanimously agreed to uphold peace and cohesion following months of tension between the Garre and Degodia communities. During the engagement, residents held open dialogue on key challenges, including scarce resources such as grazing routes and water points. Banissa Deputy County Commissioner Hesbon Kayesi urged residents to work closely with security agencies to tame individuals undermining peace in the subcounty.
