The government has unveiled an ambitious 5-year strategy to assist communities living in extreme poverty transition to self-reliance. Principal Secretary for Social Protection and Senior Citizen Affairs Joseph Motari, launching the inaugural Ultra-Poor Graduation Strategy 2025-2030, says it will build on the already established poverty-eradication frameworks, such as the monthly cash transfer program that has so far benefited at least 1.7 million Kenyans.
