The government has rolled out the first-ever nationwide legal aid service, deploying state-funded lawyers to every county. Speaking during the launch in Nairobi, Attorney General Dorcas Oduor said the initiative marks a major milestone in ensuring that every Kenyan, regardless of income, can finally access justice without fear of legal costs or intimidation. The programme targets widows, children, gender-based violence survivors, and thousands who have long been locked out of the justice system because they could not afford legal representation.
