IEBC warns against violation of election regulations, Murkomen says security is heightened

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is warning candidates in the by-elections slated for tomorrow that engaging in electoral malpractices face the risk of disqualification, even after being declared winners. The Commission’s chairperson Erastus Ethekon now claims the law grants the electoral body authority to nullify the victory of any candidate found guilty of violating electoral rules. This even as the state assured residents across the areas where the by-elections will be held of security during and after the exercise.
