Kiprono Chemitei bags 55,246 votes in Baringo Senatorial race

UDA’s Kiprono Chemitei has been declared the winner of the Baringo senatorial by-election, delivering a decisive victory in a contest marked by one of the lowest voter turnouts in the country. Out of 281,000 registered voters in the county, only 25 percent cast ballots, but Chemitei secured more than 55,000 votes, five times more than his closest competitor, Steve David Kipruto of the Republican Liberty Party.
