Legal suit threat in Malava by-election, leaders claim voter bribery and electoral violence

Political temperatures are now lowering in Malava constituency after a hotly contested by-election which saw UDA’s David Ndakwa trounce trade unionists Seth Panyakao of DAP-K with 21,564 against 20,210 votes. Ndakwa’s win, however, is not sitting pretty with the opposition leaders from Western, faulting the process, alleging voter bribery and intimidation. Trans Nzoia governor George Natembeya and Kakamega Senator Bonnie Khalwale, who were vocal campaigners of Panyako have vowed to seek legal redress.
