Tonight on My Culture, we journey to the heart of the Teso community. This is one of East Africa’s most unique cultural societies whose traditional leadership system stretches from Soroti and Tororo in Uganda to Busia County in Kenya. Unlike many communities where kingship is no longer practiced in this community the cultural practice is alive. King Papa Sande Emormor is presiding over the installation of a new local community chairman. The ceremony is rich in color, symbolism, and serves as a powerful reminder of the role culture plays in identity and unity. Jackline Wambiru has the details.
