Homa Bay is facing a deepening health crisis, with non-communicable diseases now emerging as the county’s silent killer, claiming more than half of all deaths reported in health facilities nationwide. Cases of diabetes, hypertension, cancers and other chronic illnesses continue to rise, yet access to treatment remains limited. For diabetic patients, Marindi and Nyalkinyi hospitals are the only facilities offering free non-communicable disease services through Médecins Sans Frontières.
