A non-governmental organisation has installed a 4.3 million shillings solar plant in Kambi ya Juu Water Treatment Plant in Isiolo county, to help cut electricity costs and improve water supply for Bulapesa residents. The Sustainable Access to Safe Water Initiative says the project is being implemented under the Kenya RAPID Plus Programme with the Isiolo County Government and Millennium Water Alliance, and will replace costly grid power with solar energy for pumping water.
