The National Syndemic Disease Control Council, is warning the country must urgently prioritize adolescents, youth and mothers if it hopes to end AIDS by 2030. Speaking in Nairobi ahead of this year’s World Aids Day celebration, the council’s CEO Douglas Bosire revealed new data shows nearly 20,000 new HIV infections and 21,000 AIDS-related deaths were recorded in 2024, signaling that Kenya has not yet achieved epidemic control.
