A total of 92 youths from Tana Delta and Ndera in Tana River County and Nyongoro in Lamu County, underwent a transformative training under Mashinani works, where they received self-employment toolkits. Program officials and community leaders termed the initiative as a crucial step in addressing social challenges affecting young people in the region. The beneficiaries were trained in technical fields such as motorcycle and mobile phone repair, tailoring and solar electricity wiring.
