Murang’a County Senator Joe Nyutu has raised concerns over the growing trend of excessive travel by county assembly members, questioning the necessity of some trips. Speaking during a morning TV interview on December 18, 2025, Nyutu noted that modern technology allows legislators to access information without travelling abroad. While acknowledging that travel can provide valuable social interaction and opportunities to ask questions, he criticised trips that bring no tangible benefits to counties.
