Reparations: Why it’s about more than just money - BBC Africa
How do you right the wrongs of slavery and colonial rule – and should reparations be about more than just money?
These are questions which have been gathering steam over recent years as many countries in Africa and beyond increase their calls for a reckoning on the historical injustices inflicted upon them by western powers.
BBC Africa has done a fascinating deep dive into the divisive idea of reparations and found that financial restitution isn’t the only form of compensation that’s needed to start healing wounds.
