Residents protest proposed gold leaching plant in Bondo sub-county

Residents of Bondo Rateng’ Village in Bondo Sub-County have staged a peaceful protest against the proposed construction of a gold leaching plant in their area, citing serious environmental and health risks. Led by Fredrick Oduo, the residents expressed fears that chemicals used in the leaching process could contaminate local rivers and water sources, endangering both humans and livestock. They argued that similar projects elsewhere have caused animal deaths and water pollution.
