A growing number of business leaders in the country are warning of rising strains among company directors and entrepreneurs, saying the pressure to keep businesses afloat, meet tax obligations, and sustain jobs is driving many into burnout, yet few ever speak out.In a Directors’ Forum in Nairobi participants admitted that behind boardroom success lies growing emotional fatigue and addressing mental wellbeing is now essential if businesses are to remain sustainable.Speakers called for mental health awareness and peer support to be integrated into corporate training, warning that Kenya’s work culture continues to glorify exhaustion at the expense of wellbeing. The forum brought together company directors from across sectors to discuss challenges facing entrepreneurs, including financial pressure, compliance demands, and the emotional cost of leadership.
