Civilians in possession of illegal firearms in Laikipia urged to surrender

    Civilians in possession of illegal firearms in insecurity prone areas of Mukogodo forest in Laikipia county have been urged to immediately surrender them to authorities.According to Laikipia County Commissioner Onesmus Kyatha, the forest has in the recent past served as a hideout for armed bandits. Kyatha has at the same time announced the additional deployment of Anti-Stock Theft Unit police officers to combat crime in the area. The surrender order also extends to the adjacent counties of Isiolo and Meru.
