he Ministry of Health is stepping up efforts to make dental health care accessible and affordable to all Kenyans. This comes amid growing concern over the high cost of dental treatment and limited access to oral health services, especially in public hospitals.Health Director General Dr. Patrick Amoth says many Kenyans have been unable to afford dental treatment due to its exclusion from the Social Health Authority cover. Speaking during a conference in Diani, Kwale County, Dr. Amoth emphasized the need to prioritize oral health as part of universal healthcare. Dentists at the meeting urged the county governments to employ more dental specialists, citing a shortage across public hospitals. They also called on Kenyans to embrace regular dental checkups for better oral health.
