Isiolo County Government is seeking approval to reintroduce rhinos into its game reserves, four decades after the animals were wiped out as a result of poaching. Leaders say the move would boost tourism, improve security in conservation areas and create economic benefits for local communities.
Further, it will create jobs and support community livelihoods. The county has pledged to collaborate with the Kenya Wildlife Service and other partners to ensure the safety of the rhinos.
