Scientists from the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) have helped make a major discovery about how one of Africa’s main malaria mosquitoes, Anopheles funestus, is changing to survive efforts to control it. The research, led by the Wellcome Sanger Institute and partners in 16 African countries, shows new genetic changes in Anopheles funestus that make it harder to fight.
