Meru Hospice plans charity run to support cancer patients

    Meru Hospice is organizing a charity run “The Run for Palliative Care” to raise funds for the construction of inpatient wards and support cancer patients in Meru County.The Run for Palliative Care charity run is scheduled for December 6, 2025, in Meru Municipality. Meru Hospice CEO Gladys Mucee says the event aims to raise Ksh. 40 million to construct inpatient wards and support more than 550 cancer patients under their care. Palliative care nurse Faith Kobia said the Meru Teaching and Referral Hospital needs to be equipped with modern cancer treatment machines to enhance patient care. County Health Executive Dr. Dennis Mugambi said Ksh. 15 million has been allocated in the current budget for cancer screening and diagnosis.
