Embattled National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) Director General George Njao has sparked outrage from road safety lobbies after defying a board resolution directing him to proceed on terminal leave ahead of his retirement. The NTSA Board, chaired by Hon. Khatib Mwashetani, met on October 29 and resolved that Njao hand over office to Jacob Sissey, who was appointed as acting Director General. However, Njao, who has served as DG for six years, declined to vacate the position, prompting public criticism.
