The strike by Postal Corporation of Kenya workers has entered its third day, crippling postal and courier services in many Huduma Centres across the country. The workers are demanding six months’ salaries and the remittance of their statutory deductions.Hundreds of Posta employees in Nairobi marched from City Square to the General Post Office, chanting slogans and waving placards demanding payment of their salaries. The Communications Workers Union, which represents the employees, has vowed no amount of intimidation will make them call off the strike until all pending salaries are settled. The employees are also demanding that the employer remit all pending statutory deductions, including NSSF and NHIF contributions.
