President William Ruto has called for urgent reforms in the global climate financing in the latest push by Africa for fairer systems to support vulnerable economies. Speaking on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly Second Africa Climate Summit in New York, Ruto cautioned that expecting 60% of climate finance to come from domestic resources is unjust, especially for countries that have contributed the least to the climate crisis. The Head of State also warned against overtaxing small economies that are battling high living costs and climate shocks
