Faith-based hospitals are on the brink of closure if the government doesn’t clear its outstanding debt of over 5 billion Kenya shillings owed to them. As these facilities transition to the new health cover system, they claim the government has yet to address the payment owed by the now-defunct National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF). The government's inaction could jeopardize over 80% of faith-based hospitals.
