Authorities in Kajiado have seized fake seeds valued at Ksh 7 million and arrested three suspects transporting the counterfeits onion, maize and tomato seeds in Kimana.The Kenya Plant Health Inspectorate Service, working with Loitoktok police, suspects the seeds originated from Tanzania. The officials warned that unverified seeds could spread plant diseases and pests, causing significant losses for farmers, and urged them to buy seeds only from authorized dealers. Police in the area, particularly along the Tara kea border, are on high alert to combat similar fraudulent activities. The suspects will be presented in court.
