As cases of defilement cases in Busia County escalate, the Busia Senior High Court Magistrate, Edna Nyaloti, has expressed concern over the porosity of the Busia-Uganda border which allows perpetrators to escape to neighbouring Uganda and avoid justice. Speaking in Busia Town during an event to mark the Children National Awareness Month, Nyaloti warned perpetrators that the law will catch up with them and take its course. She also called on the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees to intervene in the matter of refugee minors who are exploited sexually under threats of deportation.
