Chief Justice Martha Koome has encouraged Kenyans to embrace alternative justice systems as a way of resolving disputes and helping decongest the law courts. Speaking during the official opening of the Kamwangi law courts in Gatundu North, Kiambu County, Koome said alternative dispute resolution is more affordable and less time consuming than pursuing justice through the courtrooms. At the same time, the Law Society of Kenya has urged the Judiciary to stamp its authority as a custodian of justice.
