Betlehem was only eight when she last saw her father, Dawit Isaak, a founder of Eritrea’s first independent newspaper. But Eritrea is one of the world's worst places to be a journalist. It has no independent media, hasn't held elections since its independence and many journalists are behind bars. Isaak is one of them - after 23 years in jail he's the world's longest detained journalist. But he's now been granted a presitigious award. Betlehem tells about the prize and shares memories of her father and their country. 🎬 🎞️ Produced and edited: Marta Pausilli & Ali Abbas Ahmadi #Eritrea #independentjournalism #DawitIsaak Subscribe: http://bit.ly/subscribetoafrica Website: https://www.bbc.com/africa Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/bbcnewsafrica/ Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/bbcafrica/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/bbcafrica/
