Nurses at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Thika have downed their tools, citing unpaid salaries for the past three months. Lamenting that lack of payment has affected their daily lives the nurses led by Mercy Cheragat and Emmah Mumbi, the nurses vowed not to attend to patients until their overdue wages are paid. The hospital management led by Nursing Services Manager Easter Njeri, stated that the government owes the hospital approximately kes 22 million from the defunct NHIF.
