Traders at the Soko Posta Market in Busia County want the county government to address the poor state of the market, saying it has become impossible to operate owing to the muddy conditions and a blocked drainage system. The traders have raised concerns that the unhygienic state of the market poses serious health risks. They chided the county administration for continuously collecting levies without reinvesting it back to ensure the sustainability of the market. The traders are urging the governor to initiate the construction of a modern market or else they boycott the levies.
