Situated on the Mwache River in Fulugani village, Kwale County, the Mwache multi-purpose dam has been identified as a preferable, viable, sustainable, and essential long-term solution for the water supply to Mombasa and Kwale Counties. It is expected to provide over 186,600 m³ per day, supporting the irrigation of 7,000 acres of land adjacent to the dam.
