Inside the city ruled by over 100 gangs - BBC Africa
Haiti is a country on the brink of collapse. Its capital, Port-au-Prince, is almost entirely controlled by the gangs. The UN-sanctioned mission deployed there was meant to be a multi-nation effort with a contingent of 2,500 soldiers from seven different countries led by the Kenyan police. Six months later, only 400 Kenyan police officers have been deployed and the mission remains seriously underfunded. The BBC’s Nawal Al-Maghafi spent time embedded with the Kenyan forces before heading into gang territory.
