Kenya Union Of Domestic, Hotels, Educational Institutions, Hospitals & Allied Workers (KUDHEIHA) is calling on the Ministry of education to reconsider its decision to lay off subordinate staff who are working in public secondary schools. Kudheiha Secretary General Albert Njeru is proposing that the over 500,000 subordinate Workers who have already been issued with redundancy letters effective the 1st of this month should instead be redeployed to junior secondary schools. Njeru is further calling for the release of capitation funds before the schools reopen next week.
