Former CS Margaret Nyambura declines President's nomination

The National Assembly’s committee on Defence and Foreign Affairs says Margaret Ndung’u’s refusal to take up her nomination as Kenya’s envoy to Ghana has embarrassed the country and the President. The Committee’s Chairperson Nelson Koech says there is a need for due diligence in settling on a candidate for consideration for appointment to avert such situations in the future. Margaret Ndung’u in declining to appear before the vetting committee cited personal reasons as the grounds to refuse to take up the role in Accra.
