Pressure mounts on Governor Mutahi Kahiga to resign

Pressure continues to mount on Nyeri Governor Mutahi Kahiga to leave office over his remarks appearing to celebrate the demise of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga. The latest to join the fray pushing for his exit is Kilifi Governor Gideon Mung’aro who says Kahiga’s comments are inconsistent with Chapter Six of the Constitution on leadership and integrity. Meanwhile, former Chief Justice David Maraga continued on the campaign trail saying if elected President, he will only work with leaders who have an untainted record.
