A swimming escapade turned tragic today afternoon after a student from New Birth Technical College drowned at a local quarry dam commonly known as Kirasha at Gwa-Kungu in Ndaragwa, Nyandarua County.He was in the company of a colleague when the tragedy happened. According to eyewitness, the first student dived and managed to swim across the dam, with his colleague following closely only for him to be stuck at the middle.This dam served as a quarry during the tarmacking of Nyahururu-Nyeri highway years ago.The body is yet to be recovered.
