A team of cyclists have embarked on a cycling journey from Meru to other six counties to create awareness of the need for early cancer screening. Speaking at the Meru Teaching and Referral Hospital during the flag-off, the founder of the NALEDI initiative Robert Muriithi Kamwara said that cancer is curable if detected at an early stage. According to the Ministry of Health in Kenya, Cervical cancer is the leading cause of death with 10 women dying every day from the disease.
