The County Government of Machakos has opened a level 3 medical facility domiciled at the Machakos level 5 hospital in a move that is aimed at improving efficiency and service delivery in the healthcare system. Machakos County Governor Wavinya Ndeti said the facility aims to decongest the main hospital allowing medical professionals to focus on more complex cases requiring specialized care. Ndeti noted delays in the Social Health Authority system, leading to occasional paralysis of patient clearance. She said there is need to fast-track a system integration between the county government system and the national SHA administration system to enhance efficiency.
