EACC raids Bomet governor Barchok's residence

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has launched an inquiry into allegations of conflict of interest and theft of public funds on Bomet Governor Hillary Barchok and eight senior county officials. The investigation centres on a fraudulent payment scheme involving 1.5 billion shillings for unrendered services and works. Bomet Governor Hillary Barchok was Thursday morning arrested by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) where he recorded a statement at EACC South Rift Regional Offices in Nakuru.The EACC operation, which took place in Nairobi and Bomet counties, also targeted two contractors allegedly involved in the scheme.
