The race for the next African Union chairperson is heating up ahead of the crucial weekend elections. Kenyan candidate Raila Odinga has been dealt a major blow after the Southern African Development Community, SADC, secretariat announced their support for the Madagascar candidate today. In a last-minute diplomatic push, SADC has rallied its member countries to support Richard Randria-Mandrato who is facing Kenya’s Raila Odinga and Djibout’s Mahmoud Yousuff this comes as President William Ruto arrived in Addis Ababa ahead of the crucial AU summit.
