OVER 560,000 GRADE NINE LEARNERS TO PURSUE A STEM PATHWAY IN SENIOR SCHOOL NEXT YEAR

    Over 560,000 Grade nine students will undertake Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) when they transition to senior school next year. The students are part of the 1,130,000 currently sitting for the Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA). According to the Head of Senior School Education, William Sugut, 437,000 will pursue Social Sciences, while 121,000 selected Creative Arts and sports science. Under the Competency-Based Curriculum, students who transition to senior school choose one pathway out of the three pathways which are Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), Social Sciences, and Creative Arts and Sports.
