Alisisitiza kuwa licha ya kutumia gesi, ambayo imechangia katika uzalishaji wa umeme kwa gharama ya shilingi 170 kwa uniti, maji ni suluhisho la gharama nafuu kwa Watanzania. Msigwa ameeleza kuwa katika mwezi Disemba 2024, kiwango cha juu cha umeme kilifikia megawati 1900, na sasa wastani ni megawati 1880. Amesema bwawa la Mwalimu Nyerere linatoa matumaini makubwa katika kuongeza uzalishaji wa umeme. Aidha, amezungumzia miradi mikubwa ya kuboresha miundombinu ya umeme, ikiwemo mradi wa gridi imara wa zaidi ya shilingi trilioni 4, ambao umekamilika na kupunguza kelele za kukatika kwa umeme. Amebainisha kuwa Serikali inaendelea kujenga miradi ya usafirishaji wa umeme, kama vile njia ya Tanzania-Zambia, ambayo itasaidia kupeleka umeme kwenye nchi jirani. Pia, Msigwa alizungumzia miradi ya njia za kusafirisha umeme kutoka Chalinze hadi Dodoma, na mradi wa kuunganisha gridi ya taifa na nchi za Afrika Mashariki, ambapo Tanzania imefanikiwa kuunganisha na Kenya. Alisema mradi huu utakapokamilika, utawawezesha wateja wapya kupata umeme kutoka kwa gridi ya taifa.
