President William Ruto has led the nation in mourning chebukati, describing him as a public servant who was disciplined and stating that Kenya has lost a brave leader. National assembly speaker Moses Wetangula has also expressed his condolences to chebukati, praising him as a servant who prioritized the rule of law and contributed significantly to the implementation of Kenya’s democracy. Wetangula further stated that the late chebukati carried out his duties with fairness at the iebc. The statements were supported by prime minister Musalia Mudavadi, who mourned chebukati as a wise individual who courageously faced all challenges during his tenure. On his part, Interior Minister Kipchumba Murkomen extended his condolences, highlighting Chebukati's contributions to the success of the 2017 and 2022 elections.
